Start your Family Day off right by whipping up these puffed pancakes with the kids, using only a blender and your oven!  Dutch baby pancakes are also known as 'puffed' or 'German' pancakes and are served with fruit or syrup, and dusted with icing sugar. They make a fun breakfast that kids would love to help make and eat, topped with all kinds of fresh fruit. Try berries, sauteed apples or pears, sliced bananas, and more. You can come up with all kinds of delicious combinations!

Dusted with icing sugar and served with fruit, they are a perfect sweet breakfast treat.

Ingredients

4 large eggs

1 tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

2/3 cup flour

2/3 cup milk

2 tbsp butter, melted

1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

 


Directions

1. Put the eggs into the blender and beat until frothy.

2. Add the other ingredients and blend until smooth. Let the batter sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

3.  Pre-heat your oven to 400 F. Butter two pie pans, and then set them in the oven to heat up before pouring the batter into them and returning them to the hot oven.

4. Bake about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Serve immediately, dusted with icing sugar and topped with fruit. They will come out of the pan easily, and you can just cut into wedges.
